Start with three checks
A robot mower is a fit decision before it is a feature decision. First measure the grass it must maintain. Then check how it will navigate your property. Finally, confirm that its cutting-height range suits your existing mowing plan. A longer feature list does not resolve a mismatch in any of those three checks.
This is a document-based buying guide. We have not tested these machines on a lawn. Product destinations were checked on October 28, 2026, using Amazon.com delivery reference ZIP 10001. Shortlist by the grass area
| Your measured lawn | Models worth investigating | Important exclusion |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 0.37 acre | Navimow i215 LiDAR | Not a choice for half an acre of grass. |
| Above 0.37, up to 0.75 acre | LUBA 3 AWD 3000; WR340; LUBA 2 5000HX | Cutting height and navigation may decide the fit. |
| One full acre | WR340; LUBA 2 AWD 5000HX | The 3000 and i215 are undersized. |
These are manufacturer area ratings, not our guarantees of daily output. A complex lawn can need more charging, turning and travel time. A machine rated for exactly your area offers no documented extra margin simply because a retailer calls it powerful.
Compare the one-acre options or measure your lawn first.
Match navigation to the property
Without a perimeter wire can mean several different things. A mower might use a local RTK antenna, corrections delivered over a network, LiDAR, cameras, or a combination. Trees, buildings, disconnected areas and passages still need checking against the installation instructions.
Do not buy from the phrase “no signal issues” alone. Ask what happens if the required signal or service is unavailable, where the charging station can go, and whether the exact model has a way to handle that situation. Our wire-free guide separates these questions.
Check the exact version before opening your wallet
The LUBA 2 5000HX is a high-cut version. The LUBA 3 3000 Standard is a different generation and height range. A product-family page can display several capacities or versions; the name in the selected buying option matters more than the first photo.
Start with these verified product destinations:
- Worx WR340 — one acre.
- Mammotion LUBA 2 AWD 5000HX — 1.25 acres.
- Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 3000 Standard — 0.75 acre.
- Segway Navimow i215 LiDAR — 0.37 acre.
Pause when a deciding fact is missing
An unknown passage width, unclear service renewal or uncertain bundle contents is a reason to check the manual or ask the manufacturer before purchasing. We do not fill those gaps with a score. Compare ownership costs before treating the purchase price as the whole budget.
